Ok, let's see...actually a number of those devices may have 'built-in' OME support.  The first thing I would do is to look at the device itself and ensure that SNMP is enabled on the device (this is for printer, and switches).

The HP printers should support printer.mib (built-in) and as long as you have enabled SNMP on the device, we will discover it.  Make sure you are using the right community string.  You can use the Dell Troubleshooting tool (on your OME desktop) to test out many of these devices in your list.

We mostly support PowerConnect and Force10 switches.  But if I recall we had a Cisco Catalyst switch in one of our product offerings, so that switch is supported.  You may get other Cisco 'for free'.

Dell Opti will work, but you don't use SNMP...use WMI.  So in your disc wizard enter your credentials (like localhost\administrator,etc.).  Be sure you have installed the OMCI instrumentation on the Opti.  There is a whitepaper on this on delltechcenter.com/ome.

Not sure about Savin/Ricoh.  If you try the Dell TS tool again, SNMP, you may see if it works.

Juniper and EMC are tough...not sure on that.  For those devices, it is possible that we don't support.  But if they have a MIB that you can import, you may get limited support (alerts only).  There is a MIB Import tool for OME.  See the top-right corner of delltechcenter.com/ome for the MIB tool landing page.

Also MIBDepot.com is a good place to find mibs.  But maybe check the vendor website first.

error " No traps are found on CISCOSB-mib". I'm not sure which file should I import first.

Hi Binod,

When you look in the mib file with notepad, do you see any traps?  They would have something like NOTIFICATION-TYPE around the section.

It is possible you have a MIB file but there are no traps defined.

Did you get the MIB from mibdepot.com or the vendor?  If you could post a link, perhaps we can review.

No traps are available in the CISCOSB-mib file.   CISCOSB-traps-mib.mib contains majority of traps & you can successfully import this file into OME.

All necessary (dependency) mibs are present in the same zip.

Binod,

Ok, good deal.  This should be expected behavior.  Importing a MIB does not give you 'class 1' support for a new device (on the tree).  It simply will allow you to receive formatted traps in the OME alert console.  So I suspect you are ok, now.  I would test by trying to generate a test trap from the device and ensure it shows up in the OME alert console.
