Since we didn't support 5.5 with 1.7 the installs must have been new for the hosts and vCenter. Sometimes OMSA can get messed up during upgrades. Please verify that host is compliant in the compliance wizard in the full desktop client. In addition, can you verify you are one build 61? If you are on build 59 try moving to the current 2.0 build.Modify update path to linux.dell.com/.../latest
Run the update
This update will get you to build 2.0.0.1262
After the update move lack to original path to ensure you will see future updates.
Updating the appliance to the newer build did solve this issue, I can now successfully inventory all of the hosts. It's bit strange that the update appliance now shows that there is a update available, but it's pointing to the older 1.7 version.

Also,
The Vcenter plugin guys just got their own forum, so you may get additional traffic over there.
Thanks!
