1. You have discovered the R720xd via WSMan using only the iDrac ip address (not the server/host IP address). Yes?
2. You see some updates that are needed for this on the System Management portal page. Yes?
3. is there an error when you try to deploy the updates?
Unlikely to be a Silverlight error in this case. We want to make sure inventory is being collected properly on that device. Seems like you have the most recent catalog. You can confirm by looking at the catalog details. it should show you the date and catalog number.
2. Yes usually, but no in maintenance time (twice).
3. No. I see no updates in maintenance time so I can't select and deploy them.
OME behavior is weird. Short recapitulation:
1. I was using OpenManageEssentials_1_2_A00 with 1.2.1 patch for updating couple of R610. After buying R720xd I've discovered it via WSMan using only the iDrac ip address. But it puts to non-inventoried systems and I was not able to inventory it until I've updated OME to 1.3.0.1533. R720xd moved from non-inventoried to non-compliant systems then and I saw 4 avalaible updates after downloading the latest catalog.
2. I wanted to update R720xd in the next maintenance time. I've imported the latest catalog but I saw no updates after I checked R720xd in non-compliant systems. I've rebooted W2008R2 VM with OME but no change.
3. Few days later I saw updates again but I had to wait for the next maintenance time.
4. Last Wednesday I wanted to upadte R720xd again. But it turned the same way. I've imported the latest catalog but I saw no updates after I checked R720xd in non-compliant systems.
5. R720xd was in Non-Inventored Systems today. It moved to Non-Compliant Systems after I've run Inventory. I can see four updates avalaible if I check R720xd. I'll try to update Lifecycle Controler later today (I hope for no reboot as dedicated). But I must wait for next maintenance time to apply updates required reboot.
Ooooops. I've seen change in OME behaviour live now :emotion-8: - I was checking Task Execution History and I see no updates avalaible in Non-Compliant Systems tab now. Update Method is Unknown for R720xd now. I have no idea what chnged. I've launched Virtual Console of R720xd before. Could it be related? But nothing changed after I closed it.
I can see ProxyManager Client Cache cleanup in UI logs. Could it be related?
And I find reason R720xd wasn't inventored this morning in Application Logs. It looks like Devide Name association works some strange way. Screenshot is enclosed.
After return from holiday I've downloaded new catalog and updated Lifecycle Controller + Enterprise UEFI Diagnostics on Monday first. There was a maintenance time last evening so I've updated BIOS + 6Gbps SAS HBA. R720xd looks to be compliant now. Hopely problems won't return.

Thanks for the post.
Can you tell me how you discovered the servers?
1. SNMP or WMI + OMSA (in band)
2. iDrac + WSMan (out of band)
That will get us started.
Thanks,
Rob

Updates are loaded again today. But I must wait for maintenance time to apply them.

New maintanace time, latest catalog imported and no updates are loaded for non-compliant R720xd again :emotion-6:
Could it be Silverlight problem? Version is 5.1.30214.0. I run OME on W2008R2 64bit VMware VM.
