Physical disk in OME on windows 2008
Hi
I have installed OMSA (7.4.0) on Windows 2008 R2.
However, I cannot see the physical disk in OME.
While I install OMSA (7.4.0) on Windows 2012 R2. I can see the physical disk in OME.
Is it not support on Windows 2008?
Thanks,
Rocky

Hi Rocky,
Thanks for the post.
To understand it better i have few questions, as it will help us to narrow down to possible cause of this problem.
1. Can you confirm which protocol is used to discover the device? Is it SNMP or WMI discovery ?
2. Is it internal or external physical disk ?
Also, can you try launching OMSA for the device and verify under Storage>Enclosure you should see the "Physical Disks" connected to server. If possible, a screenshot will also help to have a closer look.
Keep us posted!
Thanks

Thanks Ranveer,
1. Yes, we are using SNMP to discover the device
2. It is internal hard drive (5 harddisks with RAID 5). The physical drive can be seen in OMSA but not OME. OME can only show the Virtual hard disk, not physical one.
3. The server is DELL R720

Hi Rocky,
Thanks for the screenshot.
After looking at the screenshots, i would recommend you to verify one thing on the target server which is discovered in OME.
1. Verify "Storage Management" is installed on the server, this comes with OMSA installer itself. You can modify installed OMSA, make sure under Server Instrumentation>Storage Management is enabled and selected for install.
Try restarting the OMSA services(services.msc, initials of the service will be "DSM" ), now delete the device from OME and re-discover it again, see if physical disk information is show now.
Keep us posted, if that works!
Thanks

Hi Ranveer,
Thanks for your help.
I have re-installed the OMSA in the client server and re-discover in OME. It can be seen now. Thanks.
Cheers,
Rocky
