The SNMP configuration tool helps to configure the community string and trap destination for Windows and Linux operating system. It is currently not supported for iDRACs.
So, when you ran the SNMP configuration tool, was it executed against the operating system IP address ? And also were the operating system administrator credentials provided ?
Generally, after the tool runs, the SNMP service properties in Windows (snmpd.conf for Linux) are updated with the right community string and trap destination.

Check the OME FAQ on delltechcenter.com/ome. I think it talks about the authentication traps.
I'm not too familiar with the tool. You mean the one from delltechcenter.com/ome?
It should configure trap destination.

I checked the FAQ you mentioned. After reading that I believe the "authntication failure" alerts I'm getting are because of SNMP.
