Repository Manager Downloads all failing
Hi,
Since updating to the latest Repository Manager, I cannot get a single SUU download to complete successfully. (Bundle/Export as SUU to Directory)
The jobs fail at different percentages like 50 or 72 or 84 etc etc. i.e. randomly.
This used to work fine.
Could this be version related or is there another issue I need to look at?
(BTW, I can get downloads etc from say Microsoft at >2MB/s but Dell is painfully slow. Always has been in my experience over the last 6 years, compared to other sites. I am just wondering if the slowness of the site is contributing to more failures of downloads.)
Sorry to whinge, but this is a real problem that is now causing headaches.
Also, individual files can be downloaded from Dell no problems (although slow). e.g. the 7.7GB SUU file comes down fine as a Windows download. Individual DRAC f/ware or Bios etc, no problems.
Just a Repository Manager issue it seems. And it is any of the various SUU downloads I have tried over the last month or two.

Are you still facing this issue?
Can you please give the repository details (which all bundles?)
Can you please also attach the log files if possible.

While composing/replying response you can upload files by selecting options (Compose/options/preview) above the editor.
If possible save just the catalog of the repository created and upload that too.

Hi,
Apologize for the delay in response.
I went through the log files and see various errors related to download and connection to ftp.
Have you faced any problem connecting to the ftp.dell.com?
The below file download was failed to you with error file doesn't exist. But I could download it from here.
ftp.dell.com\FOLDER01785000M\1\Lifecycle-Controller_Application_T6DJ4_WN32_1.3.0.850_A00.EXE
Can you check your network connection and re-try downloads again.
If the problem still persist we need to work on Dell ftp server access.

Hi,
I´ve no problem with ftp.dell.com (it´s slow, but that´s reperted many times before, and you know it.)
I can download firmware for R210, R210 II, R610 and R810 without problem, only have this problem with R620.

I'm trying from ftp.dell.
The link to home is 18mb/s but from Dell.com it seems like the download would be too slow to home...Not sure why it is sooo bad?? Microsoft downloads come through like greased lightning!
I got it installed after putting on .net4. Just slow.
Shall see if it completes the downloads for some suu's

Thx guys. I've tried up to 4 different machines to get downloads using RM and they are all failing. I am at a loss what to do.
Will Repository Manager install on my Home Laptop OK? Any tricks to get it going?

Are you trying to download it from your custom repository or directly from dell online source?
Can you Click "View Dell Online Catalog"
and re-sync Dell Online Catalog and
recreate the repository with the required bundles and try again
This application will work from Laptop at home network also.

Hi,
One another reason could be the digital signature verification problem.
Can you try download the files using Save Catalog and see whether all the files are downloading.
This might ask for a certificate confirmation once the job is completed.
Once you accept the certificate. Try again with SUU export. It should run the process fast and should be successful if there are no network issue.

I tried this at home and it fails there too....OK for a random amount of time/files, then fails. The only thing consistent ifs that it fails to get all the files.
I have no other download issues.
Can we pls ask someone at Dell to do a bit more thorough testing with this as it seems to be affecting a few people now?
