AC511 Soundbar, no microphone port
Hi,
I have bought this soundbar for my new Dell monitor U2515H. All seemed fine until I plugged my headset into the soundbar. No problems with the audio jack, but when I plug the microphone all sound stops. Soundbar only - Soundbar works fine, sound out. Audio jack into soundbar - Sound out just fine in headphones. Both audio jack and microphone jack into soundbar - No sound whatsoever. Microphone jack only into soundbar - No sound whatsoever. When I check the recording devices, I can see two High Definition Audio devices unavailable (not selectable). I tried to use Skype and the microphone actually works great, it seems I can use the microphone and get sound out from the sound bar at the same time.
Any help would be really appreciated!
:)

The ports on the side of the AC511 are audio aux-in and audio headphone out. There is not a microphone port. A microphone must be plugged directly to the PC microphone in jack.
Windows 10 might choose the audio aux-in as microphone in sound settings. Be sure to check this and switch over to your microphone.
The USB ports are USB-A. The size of the aux-in and headphone ports are 3.5mm

I have the same problem, so thanks for the information.
So it's neither a user nor a product error, it's just bad by design. Maybe you can tell your engineers at Dell that people really want to connect their headsets to the sound bar, and there's just no way that you can connect the headphone to the sound bar and the mic to the computer.
