Anywhere that sells dell fan adapter in the UK?

Hi,

I have previously written about how I would like to replace the cooling fans in my Dell XPS 420.

I have now found that the exhaust and processor fans both use a special Dell connection.

The only place I have found that I can get an adapter for normal fans to connect to this Dell connection, which also delivers to the UK, is linked to below:

http://coolpc.com/3-pin-fan-cable-adapter-Dell/M/B001CWY3IA.htm

I was wondering if anyone knows a place in the UK that sells this adapter, as obviously that would be better for me?

Thanks, Paul

Thanks for the replies. Unfortunately no luck with Maplin's online store.

Also, I've tried doing a search on Google for fan adapter but have only found a 3 pin to VGA fan adapter this way.

If anyone could provide a link to a UK store that sells a comparable adapter to the one linked to in my first post, that would be great.

Thanks again, Paul

ok, i checked the part number, and all of the places are in the us.

but try here.

http://www.amazon.com/pin-fan-cable-adapter-compatible/dp/B001CWY3IA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1223545198&sr=8-1

it is a seller on amazon, but amazon may be better to deal with.

total: 11.86 (including delivery you can even pay in uk money)

Thanks for the link and reply tasone but it's not a replacement part I'm looking for.

The fan adapter is going to be used to connect a standard fan (Noctua, Scythe) to the fan header on the motherboard. The motherboard, unfortunately, does not take a standard 3 pin fan connector.

The only places I've seen that sell this adaptor are in the US. Newegg sell it with part no: Rexus 25004-4:

It looks like I'll have to buy it from Coolpc (linked to in OP) and pay the delivery costs I think.

Thanks, Paul

try this place

you will need to know the dell part number.

EDIT:

Why not just phone up dell and ask them?

do you know the part number?

Hi,

Thanks for the link. I did a bit of digging on that Amazon seller and it turns out that they are the same people (Coolpc) I linked to in my first post (I didn't know this though until I read this on the coolerguys web-site:).

"We no longer accept or ship international orders on Coolerguys.com. Our products are available for our international customers through our Amazon-Coolerguys Store Front www.coolpc.com"

So, it looks like if I buy the part through coolpc.com it goes through Amazon's marketplace.

I will mark your post as the solution though, as that's probably the best I can hope for.

Thanks, Paul
