BIOS failure recovery mode

my 2350 dimension has the diagnostic lights on the back and they read YYYG and after looking online to see what that meant it says that the computer is in  BIOS failure recovery mode.  How do I fix this??  any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Did you try contacting Dell as instructed?

As a first step, try clearing the CMOS using the isntructions at the following site:

yes, I just got off the phone with them......I had been on hold for about 20 minutes and thought maybe the chat would be faster....lol

they just told me they don't know what is wrong it could be the motherboard or it could be the processor they don't know for sure

sounds like an easy answer to get me to hang up

The second step is try replacing the motherboard battery.  A new 3-Volt CR2032 coin cell can be purchased at any computer store, Radio Shack and most discount stores.  For a $3 investment it is a cheap thing to replace and rule out as being suspect.  You can click here for the on-line version of your model's User Guide and the section that explains how to change the battery.
