CD / DVD not recognizing Microsoft Office Backup Disk

I recently reinstalled my OS on my 2005 Dell Dimension 2400.  After completion, and attempting to reinstall my Microsoft Office, the CD rom won't recognize that I put the disk in.  It recognizes other disks (for instance I had a disk with a pdf file on it that it pulled up right away).  But when I put the Backup disk for my Microsoft Office, it acts like it doesn't see it.

What am I doing wrong?!?!?

Thanks!

Try the cd in another machine to confirm that the cd works.

Confirm that it is a cd and not a DVD .  If it is a DVD then confirm that the drive that you are putting it in is also a DVD type drive ( cd or cadre drives will not read DVDs but DVD drives will read CDs).

or install a free copy of open office, much faster than ms office and compatible with your existing documents and worksheets.

Also, not sure what so you installed on your dimension 2400 but it runs windows 7 nicely if you have at least 1gb of ram.

Hi Canton1991,

Another option would be to download the software and use the key on your package. Not sure which version you have, but you can download Office 2010 from here.
