Can I upgrade my CPU?
Hello I have a dell Optiplex GX260 with a pentium 4 processor at 2 ghz. It has 640mb of ram so its not very slow I am just wondering can I upgrade my processor anymore. Thank You

Desktop (not mobile) Northwood P4, 512K cache or smaller. max is the 3.06/533/512K CPU. All are socket 478 and long gone from production but may still be available used.
NO: 800 MHz or faster bus speed, cache larger than 512K, socket 775.

Yes as long as it is the same socket set (478) and your chipset (845G)supports the FSB speeds.

With the cost of a low end Inspiron 530 being $399 new and $199 used its not worth an upgrade on an AGP GX260.
