Can I upgrade to Core 2 Duo e8400?

I have an XPS 410 (Dimension 9200).  I installed Windows 10 and upgraded the graphics card.  I upgraded the processor from the Core 2 Duo E6400 (2.13GHz) to the Core 2 Duo E6700 (2.67GHz), but I'm afraid that Windows 10 and the new graphics card have mostly cancelled it out.  Can I upgrade from the E6700 to the Core 2 Duo E8400 (3.0GHz)?  I have read places that say you can and I have read places that say you can't, but I need a straight answer.

Unfortunately not, the maximum Core 2 Duo for the Dim 9200/XPS 410 is the E6700, that you have installed.

You could upgrade to a Core 2 Quad processor, as detailed Here:

 Kentsfield Quad Core Q6600, 2.40G, 8MB, 1066FSB, B30
 Kentsfield Quad Core Q6600, 2.40G, 8MB, 1066FSB, G0

Also, the Core 2 Quad Q6700 2.66G is supported.

Prior to installing the processor, check that you have latest BIOS version installed, as new CPU support was added.

Note: The XPS 420/9200 only supports 65nm processors.  Processors that have a 45nm, are not.

Thanks a lot!  I didn't think that quad core processors were supported.
