Cannot detect Sapphire Radeon X300 SE PCI-E card on Optiplex 380

Hello ,

I've installed Sapphire Radeon X300 SE 128M PCI-E graphic card on my Optiplex 380 desktop but Windows XP cannot detect it.

In "Display manager"  I even not see undetected hardware.

I tried to "play" with BIOS definition in Video section: select Auto and Onboard/PEM - nothing happened

In System report in BIOS menu it reports that SDVO device detected in SLOT1

Thanks.

The latest drivers Do not work with the X300 or X600 or X1200 or X1900 etc.

CATALYST 10.2 is max for XP and VISTA.  There are no WIN7 or WIN8 drivers and never will be for these cards.

Latest DirectX June 2010 patch DOES APPLY to all versions of windows and should be installed BEFORE installing the VIDEO drivers as should XP SERVICE PACK 3.

Hello Sharavdorj,

Just for your information.

I've called Dell Support and they have nothing to say. They proposed to buy different graphic card and cannot explain what is the problem with X300.

BTW, that what I did - bought Nvidia based card and this time it was OK.
