Cleaning up whats running at startup

I've been using the winconfig command, and closing a ton of stuff that was starting every time that I hardly use.I also found a few things that run in the background that are completely useless. This has upped my system resources a quite a bit.

Anyone have any idea how to get rid of the Game Cam thing? I deleted everything that hs to do with it, but at startup the computer still looks for it. Any ideas??

I don't know much about GAME CAM, but to see what should be in msconfig look at this address: http://www.pacs-portal.co.uk/startup_pages/startup_full.htm greg

if you are comfortable messing around in the registry, you will find what is running at startup here:

(use regedit command from run:)
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE->Software->Microsoft->Windows->Current Version->Run

All of these keys will pertain to what is loading at startup. If you notice anything suspicious...or know what it is, delete the key. I wouldn't delete anything that you don't automatically recognize.

Example: see anything with real player etc... delete the key. if you don't automatically recognize the key, i wouldn't touch it. you can always use ad-aware or some other such program to clean up the unidentifiable stuff.
