DELL XPS STUDIO 9100 FREEZES CONSTANTLY FEEL LIKE I WAS SCAMMED BY DELL + MY CPU IS DEFINITELY DEFECTIVE...

I purchased my Dell XPS Studio 9100 just over a year ago;

WITHIN THE FIRST WEEK I HAD TO HAVE MY CD/DVD DRIVE EXCHANGED
now a year later my computer freezes constantly; Literally up to 50 times or more a day
sometimes it will freeze up for 2 minutes; Then it will work again; Then only 30 seconds later it will freeze for up to ten minutes
this is happening constantly during very basic use; I can have a program such as the Calculator open
and my computer will freeze

My computer freezes for short periods of time; leading me to believe there is a defect in my processor

or the Motherboard itself

My Processor which is an  Intel Core i7 930 2.8ghz
Someone please help; My computer now seems to freeze more than it actually works, and is almost completely useless
I've had this machine since May 2011; and I am STILL paying it off;
I believe I was flat out a victim of a large scale SCAM carried out by Dell
soon after I purchased this product it was discontinued

I have the original operating system running.  Currently Windows 7 from Dell.  Do you mean without all the Windows updates?

I have a link below to Natakuc's clean install guides. My suggestion is to perform a complete reinstallation of the operating system.

Computer is freezing trying to play an audio CD.  I  am tired of this freezing up, going to call Dell Tech. support.  Hard drive is three months old, shouldn't have to reinstall everything again and lose all my pictures, etc.

Did you follower excellent Osprey4's suggestion to reinstall Windows using Natakuc's reinstallation guide?

Have you scanned thoroughly for malware lately?

I'm sorry, I didn't realize you were still giving this person help.. I didn't see the second page.

It's obvious jmen problems are more than buffering video problems.

No I didn't reinstall Windows since I shouldn't have too.  I always check for malware and run Norton 360 everyday and I have no viruses or malware.  My computer froze when I was on the weather channel's website and there wasn't any videos running on it so something is definitely wrong with my system.  I haven't called Dell Tech. support yet since it is Thanksgiving and I didn't get time to call.

Update -  Dell is replacing the motherboard which appears to be having problems communicating with the RAM

Also, when running the Dell diagnostic, the entire system froze and had to be hard reset.  The error regarding CPU 0 was listed just prior to the system froze.

I also have an Studio XPS 9100 with a similar problem.  I ran the Dell Diagnostic and here are the results:

Error Code 0123.

Msg: Error Code 2000-0123

Msg: Memory – integrity test failed

Then, after test was continued, the entire computer froze displaying this message.  The computer had to be hard reset.

** Memory – MATS Test **

Testing 00_0040000h – 00BF74FFFFh (3059 MB) with 8 CPU(s)

Test Results : System Error

Error Code 2000-0111

Msg: CPU 0 : Invalid TSS exception occurred

Test Results: System Error

Error Code : 2000-0111

Msg: CPU 0 : Debug exception occurred

Hi V0X,

This points to a memory error. Let me suggest you boot to a CD with memtest and run that.

The codes "appear" to point to not only a memory error, but also a motherboard error.  I don't have an external USB drive or blank CD to boot from to run memtest
