Dell C521 New Drive - Drive not found while trying to install Vista OS

When loading the Vista or Win 7 OS DVD and I get to the screen to choose the drive to install on, it does not show any drives available.

I have several good and working sata hard drives that I tried and no luck.  I even swapped the cables from the DVD to the HDD and same issue.

Anyone else see this issue?

I also reset the bios default settings to be sure.  Still no luck.

Also, the Bios hard drive test passed as well.

You must have the F6 Drivers for nForce 4 series:
430 / GeForce 6150SE, 430 / GeForce 6150LE, 430 / GeForce 6150, 430 / GeForce 6100, 430 / Geforce 6100, 420 / Geforce 6100, 410 / GeForce 6150LE, 410 / GeForce 6100, 405 / Geforce 6100, 400 / Geforce 6100

or it will not find ANY Mass storage Drives.

SATA Operation

(Off default)

The field configures the operating mode of the integrated hard drive controller.

  • RAID Off — No RAID support
  • RAID On — SATA is configured for RAID on every boot.

Your disk must be in ATA not AHCI mode and be partitioned and formatted before it will see any drives to install on.
