Dell Data Safe Date Recovery

I have been trying for months (literally) to recover data from my data safe.  After hours of trying, I get an 'out of memory' error OR it runs for days and days.  I'm on day 4 now, and about 40% done.  Is it possible to simply get my data on a DVD?  I need to recover this data as a Dell drive failed in less than one year.  I'm relying on the Dell Data SAFE to recover my data.  Please advise where I can get assistance on what has become a long nightmare.
