Dell Optiplex 3010 Vista 32bit ACPI drivers

Hi folks,

My optiplex 3010 now has vista 32bit installed as an independent os to the original win7 64 bit.

In vista I have installed the dell recomended 32bit drivers for the Intel Chipset and Intel ME8 and the conexant audio.

There appears to be no dell support for vista 32 bit for the acpi power interface because the control panel Power Options do not include options for SLEEP mode and the Start menu power button options are only for hibernate and off (not Sleep). Otherwise vista 32bit works fine.

Sleep mode in Win 7 64bit sleep mode works as it should.

Does anyone know where I can get vista 32 bit drivers to give me the option to put the 3010 to sleep ???

Neil

Hello Niel,

Please try installing the Intel Chipset Drivers for Windows Vista 32-bit from here: http://bit.ly/16rkcwv

Hope this helps!

"Is vista 32bit fully supported on the 3010"

No because the chipsets and BIOS etc are not supporting OLDER

Windows Driver Model (WDM)1.0 also known at one point as the Win32 Driver Mode

Thanks, but I've already tried that and it doesn't help. In fact Ive tried both intel drivers and the intel driver with the dell driver.

The drivers you referred to on the ftp site seem to be the same as the drivers I downloaded from the dell support site, is that correct or not?

Am using latest bios and all vista updates.

Is vista 32bit fully supported on the 3010 ???

Have installed vista 32bit drivers from Intel website and the ACPI sleep mode (S3) is now working fine and the buttons work correctly.

Downloaded file is win7vista_152234.zip. Drivers are ver 15.22.54.2622 for intel HD graphics - for 2nd gen intel core cpu with integrated graphics.

Thank you Intel.
