Do not get an HD 5450.  It is not good for gaming.  At minimum get the HD 6450.  However, if you're playing WOW, I would suggest the HD 6570 HERE.  It will fit and work.  You just have to change over to the low profile bracket that comes with it so it fits.  You do not need a 400 watt power supply.  I use the HD 6450 on the 275 watt unit just like yours and it suggests a 400 watt power supply, but it is simply not necessary.  They don't even come close to needing that much power.  If I was playing games like WOW, I would have gotten the HD 6570 instead of the HD 6450.

Hi DARYLR1990,

If you wish to purchase a video card compatible with your system from dell you may refer to the link : http://dell.to/113o8mf

The RADEON HD 5450 low profile video card is compatible with your system, however, you might need to upgrade the power supply as the minimum power requirement is 400W as given on official website : http://bit.ly/dSRtAg

For installing the video card in your system you may refer to Dell™ OptiPlex™ GX620 Systems User's Guide : http://bit.ly/Za7myu

Note: Please refer to the safety instructions in the manual before installing the video card.

I have a GX620 SFF, and configured it with a Sapphire 6570 low profile, among other upgrades.

Be aware that the interior of a GX620 SFF is cramped, and only small, slim cards will fit.

I use the HD 6450 on an Optiplex 745 SFF with a 275 watt power supply.

I just recently checked my temps on the Duo Core and they were running way too high.  I pulled the heatsink and applied new thermal paste, but also noticed that one of the two screws that fasten the heatsink to the board was loose.  My temps dropped in half afterwards.  Since things just run hotter in these smaller cases, it might be a good idea to check your temps just to make sure you're okay.

Get a 620 Tower and you don't have to mod anything it just works.

A Pentium D should have the Copper heat pipe performance heatsink.

The 620 FAQ Covers this.

The Sapphire HD7750 would be the last piece to the puzzle.

There is ZERO to no Room for many cards on the SFF.  You would have to hacksaw and dremel and even then it may be too large.

Since I cut off the side of the caddy, I attach the hard drive to the caddy with electrical tape.  You can see the electrical tape in the red circles in the picture below.  The point "P" in the picture below will rotate down and press up against the new graphics card.

First, just download and run Core Temp HERE.  Temps on your 2 cores should be around 30c at idle.  Mine were 60c.

I would just recommend getting Crucial HERE.  I run 3GB on Windows 7 32-bit which is plenty even though the 745 can use as much as 8GB.

As the owner of a GX620 SFF, I have confirmed that a G.SKILL PC6400 2x2gb kit is fully recognized and compatible.

The Sapphire 6570 low-profile fits perfectly and works well, and a Samsung 840 120gb SSD is fully recognized as SATA II. The system is Windows 8 64-bit compatible, and all drivers apart from the onboard video are furnished on the install disc.
