Dell Optiplex 755 Desktop power supply replacement.
Hello,
I have a Dell Optiplex 755 that has a stock 280 watt psu, I would like to upgrade this to a 550 watt psu. I know the computer uses a smaller form factor psu and because of that I am having a hard time finding a replacement. Is there anyone who has done this, if so what was the model that fit?
I would love to hear any success stories.
Thank you in advance.
Michael

The tower on the left is easy to do, the Desktop you need to shoehorn an aux power supply inside by removing the Optical drive. For the SFF and USFF this is completely Impossible. The other issue is that Full size video cards will not fit into that case so the point is moot.

So in this situation any of the standard atx psu can be fit into Dell Optiplex 755 Desktop? Just need to remove optical drive bay?
Will the 550w PSU ATX 24 Pin output suitable for desktop form factor motherboard?
After modify the PSU into 550W output i can install any low profile graphic card such as Nvidia Quadro 2000 (62W) into the desktop? Just not over 75W power consumption?
Thanks.

The drive bay Aux power supplies are NOT Standard.

The aux power unit is IN ADDITION to the main power supply not replacing it. Desktop units DO NOT FIT anything other than the proprietary Dell power supply. Standard EPS NOT ATX power supply will work. Requires 80 percent efficient EPS12v PFC power supply. ATX is 70 percent efficient at best. ATX is a standard from 1990.
