Dell Optiplex 9010 AIO No POST After BIOS Flash

Hi there,

Recently I got a Dell Optiplex 9010 AIO running BIOS revision A05. I installed a fresh copy of Windows 7, and flashed the latest BIOS (version A19) from within Windows. System rebooted, it flashed the BIOS, but had an error just like this one.

In the end it said "BIOS Update Successful, Rebooting" but after rebooting, the Dell Logo/POST screen has never come up again. The fans turn on, the power light is solid white, but there's no video output on either the internal screen or a VGA-connected monitor. I've tried opening it up, removing the CMOS battery, using the CMOS clear jumper, when disconnected from power of course, to no avail.

Any ideas or have I just made myself a 23" paperweight? Thanks in advance.

Note, your settings may look different than mine. But I think you can figure it out.

* Click Start- Control Panel- Hardware and Sound- Power Options
* On the selected one, click Change plan settings- Change advanced power settings
- Intel Graphics Power Plan, Plugged in = Maximum Performance
- PCI Express, Link State Power Management, Plugged in = Off
- Processor power management, Maximum processor state, Plugged in = 80%
* Click Apply- OK

Retest and post results.

Really, the post states that there is no video, not even POST and you ask him to go to control panel? What kind of people work at [tag:Iwork4Dell]?

I have the same exact problem, same exact Dell 9010 AIO. Can someone qualified please answer this question? I should not have to throw away my PC after doing a BIOS update.

If the system is still under warranty, contact Dell Tech Support for assistance, and possible motherboard replacement...

falconitservices I eventually sold the desktop for parts - I was never able to get it to work again. On some Dell computers you can initiate a BIOS recovery with some special steps. Some Googling around will point you in the right direction, look for Dell Phoenix BIOS Recovery. I have not, however, been able to trigger a BIOS recovery on any modern Dell systems (past 2008-2009 or so).
