Dell XPS 8100 4 Beeps RAM Problem?

Hello

So I have a dell xps 8100 that is having a weird issue. One day, I got up in the morning to turn on my computer and was shocked that I had a problem with my dell, It gave me 4 long beeps. I looked up the error codes to look at the problem which indicated a problem with the RAM, and I was told from my other friends that the RAM was fried. Well, turns out when my brother decided to diagnose it, it just decided to randomly start working. It worked just fine for the next 4 days, then all of the sudden. The next morning, the computer beeps the error codes for the 4 beeps. Originally I was going to replace the RAM, but now since it was working, I think there has to be a better solution then just replacing it.

  1. Power off, unplug and press/hold power button for ~15 sec
  2. Carefully reseat the RAM modules in their slots
  3. Use canned air to blow out all the dust bunnies

Close the case, reboot, and press F12 before Windows starts to load. Go to Utilities partition and run all the memory tests. And/or create a bootable CD with (free) Memtest86+ using their zipped pre-complied bootable iso and run that. Make note of error messages, if any.
