Dell XPS 8700 RAM Upgrade HELP!!
my specs are Core i7 4790 8 GB of RAM DDR3 1600 mhz and i wanted to updgrade to 12 so i bought another 4 gb DDR3 1600 mhz and it still wont fit in the dell xps 8700 there is 2 white slots filled with the ram that was already in there and then there is two black slots with none in there so i dont know hy i cant fit the ram in there it is the same size as the white ones i just can only fit it in the white one

Needless to say, you appear to have purchased the wrong modules. Can you provide the EXACT manufacturer and part number that you purchased.
The black slots are identical to the white ones but accommodate modules #3 and 4.
