Dell memory VS. Crucial Technology memory

I just bought another DIMM chip of 128mb of RAM from Crucial Technology and I had it in for a week and my mouse would stick when I would be on the internet changing pages or trying to open a program. It would just stick for a couple of seconds till it finished doing what it was doing then it worked fine. I emailed Dell tech to see if they knew of a fix for the mouse problem and they told me to "take out the non Dell part to see if it still does it and to buy buy RAM from Dell" and see if it still does it. I took out the RAM from Crucial and it doesn't do it anymore so what is the problem and what is the difference between the two RAM chips.

I have a XPS T-600 with 128mb RAM. I am trying to upgrade to 256mb.

Any help would be great.
Thanks,
Mike

Well, seeing as Dell gets their memory from Crucial, I don't think this is the problem.

Double-check to see that it is the right memory. It will even likely have the same part number/label as the original.

Make sure that both are seated all the way in. When I installed a second stick, I had a hard time doing so.

Also, try removing the original stick, and inserting the new one, in the same slot. See if the problem is there, or not.

If not, then try the original one in the second slot. Check again. If still no problem, leave it the way it is.

It is possible that you got a bad stick. This is the best way to troubleshoot. Good luck.
