Device Manager reports driver is corrupt for all imaging devices
Hi, I have an XPSgen5, using Windows XP. (Hopefully that is enough information, let me know of you need more.)
My PC has a problem -- in device manager, all of the imaging devices cannot load. They are listed under imaging devices, but they have the dreaded yellow circle and question mark on them.
This began to be a problem only fairly recently, with my HP scanner, which worked fine for years. Can't scan; get an error message. This is true despite the fact that I just replaced that scanner with a new one in an effort to get around this problem.
In Device Manager, the properties screen for the scanner (as imaging device, it's a multi-purpose and is working fine as a copier and printer) says:
"Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)
Click troubleshoot etc."

This same message is displayed for every imagine device.
I've been through the whole troubleshoot menu, with no results. Also been on the phone with HP tech and did the whole uninstall and reinstall thing (again) and it did no good. He told me it's a PC problem and I need to ask Dell about solving USB controller or BIOS issues.
Anyone have any idea what is going on inside my PC, and how I can go about fixing this? Thanks for reading and any advice.

Hi Khurasanminis,
Terry dropped me a note, the Code errors: 19, 31, 32, 37, 39, 41; all usually are related to corruption with the Upper and Lower Filters.
See if the following Microsoft article will help you with this issue.

Best Regards
God, grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked anyway,
the good fortune to run into the ones I do
and the eyesight to tell the difference.
