Dimension 1100 RAM upgrade Sorry IT IS AS DESK TOP

Question

My Dimension has the standard 512mb RAM , It seems to be getting slow .. Especially if my son is on World Of Warcraft ,,

What is the max I can up the RAM to ? I don't mind junking the stick that is in if it means I can put 2 x 1gb in.

What are the part #'s ?

Hard drive is about 80% , but I am upgrading this also ..

RAM max is a 1G as 2X512M PC2100 soDIMMs Hard drive max is 120G, EIDE (NOT SATA) 2.5', 9.5 mm.

Also, I assume you mean an Inspiron 1100 as there is no 11000. According to www.crucial.com max is 1GB (two 512MB modules).

In regards to World of Warcraft the INTEL VIDEO is TOO SLOW and 32 bit 33mhz PCI video WILL NOT HELP.

You need to get a newer Dell Like an Inspiron 530 desktop with 2 gigs or more of ram and add a Radeon HD 4670 video card.

Otherwise the Lag in places like Dalaran are going to be over the top.

You probably have a 64mb intel onboard videocard, which uses the system RAM. That means if you have 512MB ram, it uses max 64MB of it for video purposes.

If you have 2 memory slots, the cards have to match in memory size (e.g. 2x512mb). The MHz doesn't have to match to work, but it will run on the speed of the lowest MHz card. If you have 4 slots and DDR1 memory you can use e.g. 2x512mb + 2x1gb. So you only have to match 2 of the cards. Anyway DDR1 is dirt cheap right now so if you can fit 2Gb (2x1gb) in your system, go for it!

No, the maximum memory the Dimension 1100 supports is still 2gb [2 x 1gb modules].

Upgrading the memory from 512mb, to 2gb should a big difference in performance.

Sorry cannot say, if the used memory on the eBay site, you listed, will be compatible with the Dimension 1100, there's not sufficient information about it on the site, you need to ask the seller.

Personally, I prefer to use CRUCIAL, as they certify their memory to be compatible with your system.
