Dimension 4600
Computer will not boot it will just load to a black and white screen that says the amount of memory has changed press F1 or F2 please help

Unplug the system, and hold the power button for 30 sec. Remove and reinstall both memory modules.
Try powering up again - if you get the same, try one module at a time in each socket until you isolate the bad module or bad socket -- if it's the module that's bad, replace the memory module; if the socket is bad, replace the mainboard.

It may be given the AGE of the unit that the CMOS battery is bad. You can try reseating the ram. However drives this old are likely to die very soon if they havent already.
