Dimension E310 memory upgrade

I recently upgraded to Windows 7 64 bit version. Will my machine support more than 2Gb memory now ?

Hello,

Both the Dell specs, and the Crucial memory site still list 2GB as the max for that system.

There may have been a BIOS upgrade that would allow more, but another E310 will have to chime in with that info.

Thereal-dbk4297 is correct in stating that the maximum RAM is 2gb [2  x 1gb modules] and there are no BIOS upgrade available for the memory.

I bought 1 GB PC-3200U 333 memory for my E310 desktop, and it can be installed to the computer. But after installed, the PC can not boot. So I had to revert to oringinal memory, then the computer works fine. Why the E310 does not take the PC3200U 333 memory? What kind of memory I need for this computer? Please help.  Many thanks!

It would seem that the memory you purchased, is not compatible with the Dimension e310.

For memory that's certified to work in the E310, has a lifetime warranty and free S&H, go HERE

My Dimension 3100 (same model) with A04 BIOS works with a G.SKILL 2x2gb PC6400 kit.
