Dual Monitor cable for GX620

Hello,

I have a Optiplex GX620 w/ ATI RADEON X600 SE 128MB. XP shows I have primary and secondary display.

I want to buy a cable to hook up 2 analog VGA montiors.

Anyone what's the part number?

Thanks!

I ordered the splitter cable (0J9256) for the ATI RADEON SE 128MB video card, but it won't fit into the port.  Do I need another dongle?

I had an online chat with Dell support. They told me to get G9438 (This is internal part number which is not the same as sales part number.)

Instead, I just ordered 310-4469 (This is the sales part number). I don't really know the different between them but I was told 310-4469 has 2 VGA connectors or 2 DVI connectors.

Actually, (0J9256) comes with 2 splitter cables.  One splits to 2 VGAs ( http://cgi.ebay.com/Dell-NewMolex-Dell-Molex-Dual-VGA-Splitter-Cable-G9438_W0QQitemZ8802896919QQcategoryZ51050QQcmdZViewItem) and the other one splits to 2 DVIs.  The problem is it won't connect to the video card.

By the way, I found the picture when I search G9438 on Google.  I think you are ordering the same cable.

The eBay cable looks suspicious. You see one DVI plug and two VGA plugs, but if you look at the far end of the picture, you see another 2 plugs. It makes it looks like they are actually two set of cables.

It's easier to take the picture with 2 cables.

My question is the same as the OP. he says dell support recommended G9438, looking at a picture of this, http://tinyurl.com/ncxp9 the yellow connector is not the same. Mine is more like a dvi connector. Did tech cupport recommend the wrong cable?

I am trying to extend my desktop onto this second monitor, this is possible with this graphic card which includes the secondary right?

I appreciate any help in telling me the right component to buy.

Thanks, Tom.

these were given to me by Dell U.S., I'm in Europe and found another one, pretty much just a DVI-I with one Digi and one Analog should do you.  i'm using this on my Dell 620 and it works like a charm.  Glad I did it.
cheers.

I just spoke to Dell Sales in the States and they gave me a part number, can you try to find A0439327 ?

They also use something called Cables to Go and see a similar cable with part number A0440914.

sure, I ordered from UES.ch online shop, and it costs me about 57 chf, which is like 20 to 30 gbp.

if you google for cable shops and then put in dvi-i y cable, you need to find one with a vga out and a dvi out.  Once I did that, I had to fiddle around in the settings (don't remember what anymore) and now I've got dual 19 inchers.  good luck.

This is the description they put at www.ues.ch

Commande :
1       4877    Cable dual screen, 1x DVI & 1x VGA  en "Y" pour SX280   36.710038       36.710038
