Flashing BIOS on OptiPlex 745
I downloaded the BIOS update for my desktop OptiPlex 745 SFF, but running it I get the error message that Windows 7 could not be setup to reboot...or something along those lines.
Can anyone help? Have others successful flashed/updated the BIOS in these machines ?
Thanks

Hello Franhzen,
In order to assist you further, please help me understand the following details:
**NOTE: Few things to ensure before updating the Bios is, no other external peripherals should be connected to the computer. Please ensure that the Bios update should not be interrupted else it would damage the motherboard.
Please write back with the details.

>>What exactly made you update BIOS?
It's a Dell recommended update.
>>Were you facing any issues with the computer?
No.
>>While updating BIOS, did the computer shut down accidentally or was the power discontinued some how?
The BIOS was never updated.
>>no other external peripherals should be connected to the computer.
Like what? The Mouse? The keyboard ?
Apparently Windows 7 won't allow the BIOS to be flashed for some reason ???

The following is Dell's policy on a failed BIOS update:
