It's okay. I just chatted with Dell tech support and we were able to erase the password after I gave them the system security information for the account. Everything is good now. Thanks anyway.
It sounds more like the user lost the Windows password. If so, the first thing to try is Safe Mode - you may be able to get into Safe Mode, and if you can, you can change your password from there.

Have you tried using the 'Password Jumper' [PSWD] on the motherboard?

F8 before Windows begins to load.
