Getting an Inspiron 530 and replacing embeded gfx card with a HD3850

Hi everyone ! i decided to buy this version of the inspiron 530 ;

Components

PROCESSOR Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor E8200 (6MB L2 Cache,2.66GHz,1333FSB)
OPERATING SYSTEM Genuine Windows Vista® Home Basic Service Pack 1
MEMORY 2GB Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 800MHz- 2DIMMs
HARD DRIVE 250GB Serial ATA Hard Drive (7200RPM) w/DataBurst Cache™
SOUND CARD Integrated 7.1 Channel Audio
GRAPHICS CARD Integrated Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 3100
OPTICAL DRIVE 16X DVD+/-RW Drive
MONITOR 19 inch S199WFP Widescreen Digital Flat Panel Monitor with TrueLife*
MODEM AND WIRELESS No Modem Option
FLOPPY DRIVE & MEDIA READER No Floppy Drive Included

Ok, so the price for all of this is;

868.00 CAD taxes included.

now, as you noticed it, i picked the motherboard-embeded bad graphic card , because i want to add a radeon HD3850 in the case as soon as i recieve my tower and monitor (for 138 CAD taxes included) .

My question is ;

i ve read that DELL use a 300watts PSU in its C2D based computers, and a 375 watts in its computer with quad core.

Considering i didnt pick a HD2600xt as the default graphic card, will they still use a 300watts one, or are they going to put a 250 or even less power supply in it, which would prevent me from adding a HD3850 in the pci express slot? Or are they going to put a 300watts in it, which would be allright ?

thanks in advance for your answers.

No, unless you upgrade to a Core 2 Quad processor, the default power supply would be a 300w unit.

thanks again shesagordie, id like to know what you think of this thread i replied to which deals with the addition of a HD3850 in a inspiron 530 case with a 300watts psu .

is the default 300 watts psu too weak to handle a HD3850? does it have a power cable, wether its sata or molex or would i need an adapter?

thanks again.

ok,  decided to do the folowing;

buy this

plug it into this;

and plug both into a remaining sata conector from the psu.

Then i would plug the whole thing into a bulk HD3850 .

hope it will work; im going to try it.
