HardyHar: I just solved NumLock off isse.
In the previous post I stated that NumLock is off in Win XP even thought it is setup as On in the BOIS setup.
Here is how it has been corrected:
1- In Control Panel, Accessibility Options, Mouse tab.
2- In MouseKeys click Settings
3- If you also use the numeric keypad for data entry, click Off. If you use the numeric keypad for navigation and for the INSERT and DELETE keys, click On.

Anyway, you can hack the Windows Registry to change this behavior.
To enable NumLock through the Registry:
* Open Windows' Registry Editor (START > RUN, type "REGEDIT").
*. Navigate to HKEY_USERS\.Default\Control Panel\Keyboard.
*. Change the value for InitialKeyboardIndicators from 0 to 2.
* Reboot XP

One question: What does a value of 1 do with InitialKeyboardIndicators???
