How can I double click with the mouse wheel?
Hello. I just got my new Dell, and it came with the standard two-button mouse with scroll wheel in the middle. The scroll wheel is also somehow a select button. I can click it. My old Microsoft mouse worked such that the middle wheel was both a scroller and a double-click, which I set up via control panel > mouse. I do not see any option in control panel > mouse to set up this Dell mouse by assigning any actions to the wheel except scrolling. So what do I need to do? Is there updated software I can install for this or someting?
Thanks.

First, figure out who makes the mouse. Turn it on its back, look between the legs...oop - look for any logos. Microsoft and Logitech are most common. M$ will usually have a name like "Intellimouse" or some such, Logitech logo looks like a crescent moon giving a raspberry.
For MS:
http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/mouseandkeyboard/Download.mspx
For Logitech:
http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/downloads/categories/US/EN,CRID=1792
With correct software, you can make that scroll wheel do just about anything but sit up and beg.

Hello,
I have the same problem, tried drivers from Logitech and Microsoft's Intellimouse, they didn't had any effect at my mouse... it just kept on working as before, but without the double-click function. This option was setted in both the configurations.
Looked for a logo under the mouse, but can't find the ones of Logitech or Microsoft. It just say "Dell" and several others which I identify as logo's from the approval-companies.
Can someone help me? I use the function a lot on my other computers I work with... I'm used to it.
Greetings,
Robert
