How do I get my multimedia keyboard working with Winamp 5?

I have a Dell RT7D30 keyboard... how would I get the multimedia buttons to work? They only seem to work in WMP, and I would prefer not to use it. :)

Unfortunately, the hotkeys are not programmable to work with third-party applications such as WinAMP.

Actually there is a plug-in that works rather well with this poorly supported "multimedia" wireless keyboard/mouse setup. The plug-in is called KeyControl v1-0 beta. I just installed it with Winamp 5, Windows XP, and Dell's keyboard Model No.RT7D40.

If the link dies just search the plug-in section of www.winamp.com

Thankfully clever computer nerds can work around poorly designed products. At least I didn't pay for it. Enjoy.

Silly me. Winamp 5 even has a global hot key plugin already included.
