Howto use a MS Bluetooth mouse on W2000 on M60
Hi,
Ive had problems on using the Microsoft Wireless IntelliMouse for Bluetooth on my Precision M60 and Windows 2000 /Windows 2000 Server
But here is the solution how to get it work.
First of all you must know that MS only offers a driver for Windows XP. Furthermore I wanted to use my internal Dell Bluetooth-Card (Dell TrueMobile Bluetooth Module 300).
Sorry about my bad english but i am from Germany....
So lets go....
1.) First install the Hardware (if not done on manufacturing) The blue LED on the right side of the M60 should go on.
2.) Download the latest Bluetooth Software from Dell [Bluetooth Widcomm driver/application version 1.4.1.4 to include HID (Human Interface Devices)] the file is called R58915.EXE
3.) After installing the R58915.EXE your PC should find a HID-Mouse. Now you can move the mouse but you are not able to change any button. (Of course this is a HID - Device)
4.) Now you need the original Microsoft driver CD. Put it into your PC
5.) Click on start - settings - control panel
6.) A window should open... click on the mouse button and on hardware.
7.) You should see 2 devices installed first the touchpad and second the HID device
8.) click on the HID device and properties, click on driver and update driver
9.) Now choose show all drivers and then click on have disk
10.) You can now choose the driver from the original MS CD choose the point32.inf (this file should be in CD-ROM/Mouse/Setup/Files)
11.) dont care about the infos (wrong operating system) click on the MS Wireless IntelliMouse Explorer for Bluetooth and install this driver on the HID device
12.) restart your system
13.) the mouse should work as bevore but the device should no longer be named HID Device it should now be called MS Wireless IntelliMouse Explorer for Bluetooth
14.) First step done
15.) Now download the IntelliPoint 5.0 Software from the www (You should find this without a problem, maybee you can find it on the MS/mouse website) (The CD only includes the 4.9 software and this does not work)
16.) Install the software and choose as installed Device the "Wireless IntelliMouse Explorer"
17.) restart your System
18.) After this you can edit all Buttons with the MS software and it works..
Have fun
If someone knows how to include more options on the menue pleas post this. ( I try to get the Explorer on the middle Button/Weehl but there is no such option implemented)
Any questions then post here

Good job,I also try using MS BT mouse with standard Dongo,same with you.
Met any lost connecting problem?For example,you can't repair your mouse any more?
Have test BT keyboard?

There is a little problem on "waking up" the mouse. The first time you work with the BT mouse you have to push a button (or scroll the wheel) to wake up the mouse. Then the mouse will be "online". I dont know which intervall the mouse use to go on "sleeping mode". If you use the mouse (moving, clicking...) it will stand online. If you do nothing for 30 to 120 seconds the mouse goes on "sleeping mode" and you have to activate it another time.

sorry but I dont understand your question. Maybee you are speeking from a hardware -Problem. If the voltage of your batteries is low there wount be any information from the software. (It shows always full). Sometimes you are able to switch the two batteries ( a>b; b>a) and the mouse will work for about 10 minutes. I belive there is a different use of the two batteries.

but you can jump from Point 3 to 15. Because W2003S knows a standard driver for the "Microsoft PS/2 Port Mouse (IntelliPoint)". If you choose this one on the W2003 instalation the IntelliPoint 5.0 Software will find the Mouse without installing the point32.inf .
