IE5.5 SP2 & Belarc

Does anyone know if Belarc Advisor is working on a new version since the old version doesn't work anymore with IE5.5 SP2 or IE6? Apple has come out with an ActiveX Control which fixes the problem with "Quicktime streaming" (and it works).

I have IE 5.5 SP2 and I have downloaded the Belarc Advisor. Does it work? I am not sure. I can bring up SPECIAL PROFILE DETAILS that include tabs and information for System, Media, Connectors, Graphics, Sound, Memory, and Sockets. However, when this was part of of your system inforamtion on the Dell Talk page I could get a System Configuration Card that included all my system inforamtion and programs and versions on my computer which I really liked. The Belarc Download does not seen to work the same way. I know that several people have asked about this on the Dell Talk Forum however I don't think to date it has been answered. Why did Dell take this off their Dell Talk page in the first place?

Belarc does not work with IE 5.5 SP2 or IE 6 because neither of those supports plug-ins anymore. Both still support ActiveX though.

My Technical Support web page has some good links for Dell support.

I am not sure what a plug in is, however will there be a fix for this? I really like this Belarc Program when it works. I wish the Dell Site would add it back. It just seemed to disappear without an explanation

I didn't know DellTalk had Belarc on their website. I just downloaded Belarc Advisor from Belarc's website and anytime I wanted to check my PC's Hardware, Software (w/Version #'s), etc I just ran the Belarc Advisor plug-in/program. Apple has put out an ActiveX Control which allows you to see Quicktime streaming video that IE5.5 SP2 had previosly stopped. I'm just wondering if anyone has heard if Belarc has plans to do the same (ActiveX Control) with Belarc Advisor. I've emailed Belarc with no response.

wlls, If you have Netscape installed, you can right-click Belarc ( on the desktop or in 'Programs' ) and you can 'Open With' Netscape Navigator. Seems like no one likes Netscape but they still support plug-ins and they still support Java. You can't say that about the newer versions of IE.
