Inspiron 3650 PCI or PCIe?

Question

What interface (bus) are the 4 expansion slots in the back of my new Inspiron 3650 - are they PCI or PCIe? I want to buy an IEEE1394a Firewire controller card (p/n 341-1097) from Dell U.S. (I live in the UK). It is described on the Dell US website at http://tinyurl.com/zjp9aw4 as PCI and I need to know if it will fit.

emelcee1 The Inspiron 3650 does not support PCI, only PCIe  [x1 & x16] cards are supported. Bev.

Bev, thanks for that, it's what I suspected. I spent an hour on the phone with Dell tech support this morning and was assured the PCI board was compatible. Do you know if this information is available on the Dell website. I couldn't find it anywhere.

There are no 32 bit conventional PCI 2.3 slots in the 3650.

The specs do seem to confirm the other thing I was told - that only 3 of the expansion slots are available (1,2 & 4). It looks like what I need is a Startech PEX1394A2V instead.

The x16 slot is typically reserved for a video card, so you probably only have the 2 PCI-e x1 slots available for expansion cards.
