Intel Pentium Dual-Core 2140 (1.6 GHz, 800 MHz FSB)
Intel Pentium Dual-Core 2160 (1.8 GHz, 800 MHz FSB)
Intel Pentium Dual-Core E5200(2.5 GHz, 800 MHz FSB)
Intel Core 2 Duo E4300 (1.8 GHz, 800 MHz FSB)
Intel Core 2 Duo E4400 (2.0 GHz, 800 MHz FSB)
Intel Core 2 Duo E6320 (1.86 GHz, 1066 MHz FSB)
Intel Core 2 Duo E6420 (2.13 GHz, 1066 MHz FSB)
Intel Core 2 Duo E6550 (2.33 GHz, 1333 MHz FSB)
Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 (2.66 GHz, 1333 MHz FSB)
Intel Core 2 Duo E7300 (2.66 GHz, 1066 MHz FSB)
Intel Core 2 Duo E7400 (2.80 GHz, 1066 MHz FSB)
Wolfdale Core 2 Duo, E8400, 3.0GHz, 6MB, 1333FSB, 65W, E0

Wolfdale Core 2 Duo  E8500 (3.16 GHz, 1333 MHz FSB)
Wolfdale Dual Core Kit, E8600, 3.33GHz, 6MB, 1333FSB, 65W, E0

Also, the Intel Pentium E6500 2.93 GHz dual core processor.

Prior to installing the processor you need to check that you have BIOS Version 1.0.15, or higher, when support for new Intel CPU's was added.

Note: Core 2 Quad processors are not supported by the Inspiron 530S [Slimline]

I know the Core 2 Duo E8400 will work in the 530s, as I'm using the E8400 processor in a 530 MT with the same Foxconn G33m02 motherboard.

As already stated, prior to installing the processor check that you have the updated BIOS 1.0.15 or higher version.

Good luck.

I purchased mine from Amazon for $120, but managed to reduced the upgade cost by selling the default E6320 on eBay. :emotion-5:

Turns out the guy already sold it, Which sucks because that was an amazing deal. Yeah they still selling the E8400 in the 120's and higher. Right now I can't afford it at the price.

out of all the CPU's that you listed above which one would you recommend? Right now my budget for it is around $50-$80. I just play the Typical Free Online FPS game and render videos.

Sorry to hear that, you could try browsing eBay, over the years I've purchased several processors off eBay very cheaply.

i sold my ipod touch in order to get money to buy this CPU. Now i'm going to try to buy it off Ebay at the lowest price possible and follow up by making a new topic with help on installing once it has arrived at my house :D

Would any i5 work as long as it's a 775 socket?
