Inspiron 530s audio

As per my last posts reffering to the gfx cards, i take it for the fitment of a sound card i need a low pro too? Is the sound processed internally with these machines and would a sep card make much diff? Thanks

Inspiron 530s desktop is shipped with realtek Integrated audio. Realtek ALC888 codec is an 7.1-channel digital audio codec that provides the hardware and software features listed below:

Hardware Features:

  • High-performance DACs with 97 dB SNR (A-Weighting), ADCs with 90 dB SNR (A-Weighting)
  • Ten DAC channels support 16/20/24-bit PCM format for 7.1 sound playback, plus two channels of independent stereo sound output (multiple streaming) through the front panel output.
  • Two stereo ADCs support 16/20/24-bit PCM format, one for stereo microphone and one for legacy
  • All DACs supports 44.1 k/48 k/96 k/192 kHz sample rate
  • All ADCs support 44.1 k/48 k/96 k sample rate
  • Wide range (–80 dB ~ +42 dB) volume control with 1.5 dB resolution of analog to analog mixer gain
  • Software selectable boost gain (+10/+20/+30 dB) for analog microphone input
  • Two GPIOs for customized applications 
     
Software Features:
  • Meets Microsoft® WHQL/WLP 3.0 audio requirements

Hi inspiron530s,

You need a card with a lot profile backplane, not just the card itself.

As for whether the sound would improve, the answer is probably not. What an external card gets you normally is additional features, inputs/outputs and control.
