Inspiron 531 Video Card Upgrade

I am looking to upgrade the video card in my Inspiron 531 Desktop.  Its got the stock 300watt PSU.  I recently upgraded the processor to a AMD 5800+ 3.01GHz.  I use it to watch alot of videos and play some old games...like 5 yrs old.

These are the 2 cards I'm looking at.  I was wanting to make sure that they will run on it.

It should work fine.  The GT 240 along with the GT 440, GT 430, HD 4670, HD 5570 and HD 5670 are all very low power consuming cards and should not have any issue running on the 300 watt power supplies.

So with what you have told me...would it be a better option to go with a more advanced card...like this...

The GT 440 is a Fermi card with DirectX 11 so probably as long as you are running Windows Vista or 7.

Yes...I'm running Win. 7 Premium.

Here are my specs...

Inspiron 531 Desktop

Win. 7 Premium 32bit

4 GB Ram

AMD Athlon 64 X2 5800+ 3.01GHz

250GB HDD main, 1TB HDD Media storage

using my 37" 720P HDTV for a screen

I would rather get a better card now....save myself the hassle later.  If the fermi card will be good, I will go with it then.

there aren't very many reviews out there of the new gt 440 and the one detailed review i found only compared it to higher end cards and not ones in it's lower class so it wasn't too helpful

its the same hardware as the gt 430 but with better memory managment is what they concluded ... and most tech sites were disappointed with the gt 430 performance.

the  ATI HD 5670 are faster and the direction i would go ....  but for what you want to do with it you may not see much of a difference.
