Intel Core 2 Extreme QX6700 Quad- Core Processor for dell dimension e521?
I just ordered an Intel Core 2 Extreme QX6700 Quad-Core Processor to replace my old amd athlon 64 3200+ for my dell dimension e521(BIOS version 1.1.4).
I just wanna know if the new processor will work with the dell dimension e521.
my PC :
amd athlon 64 3200+ 2.00ghz
6gb of DDR 2 ram
1 TB hidden
amd radeon HD 6450
...

Nope. Intel chips use different chipsets and different sockets for the processor vs AMD. If your computer came with an AMD processor you have to upgrade with an AMD processor.

If you already have the chip you will need a precision T3400 with bios a09 to put it in.

In that case I'll need a new desktop . Are there any recommended desktops that will accept the chip (Intel core 2 extreme qx6700) and my graphics card, four ram slots and two hard disk cages. A very basic one.

There are no new systems thats why the Precision T3400 is recommended.
Socket 775 is end of life end of support.

Why did you buy the intel then ask for info ?. I would of asked first then bought.
