Memory upgrade for Inspiron B130
I tried to check out the support stuff on Dell to find this answer, but they are totally useless. I have the Dell Inspiron B130 that has two 512 MB chips = 1 GB . I want to upgrade my laptop to 2 GB memory. Dell seems to say I have to buy (2) 1 GB chips to fill the slots. I found a compatible DDR2 chip that is from Kingston, but is 2 GB. Do I have to fill both slots, or can I use the one 2 GB chip. I know that my laptop will only allow for 2 GB....

You need a pair of 1G modules, which is the max for this system. If you're going for Kingston, make sure you buy RAM with the part number beginning with KTD, NOT KVR - Value RAM is low quality and often won't work.
