Multimedia Keyboard - Volume Control Not Working
I have a Dimension 8300 with mulimedia keyboard running XP SP2 fully updated.
The volume control and mute button are no longer working, all othe buttons are ok.
They worked fine until few weeks ago - I suspect they stopped working after some of the Windows updates.
Tried reinstalling soiftware with no effect
Any suggestions how to fix this ?

...my volume-control stopped working after I installed the drivers for my Terratec 6fire audiocard. Have you installed drivers for a non-soundblaster or non-dell systemboard audiocard? You might try to do a roll-back to see if this caused it.
I searched for information on how to configure the multimedia-controls on that keyboard and I ended up in the registry with the knobs of the keyboard being mapped to various values (the values being mixer-controls). All looked well, but the volume wont move, so I think it's incompatibility of the Terratec-drivers with this functionality. (my 'mute'-button works, though...)

I have your Dell keyboard, and I am not able to find the volume on the key board . Can you please tell me where it is.
Thanks

I had the same problem with Windows 8, the solution is to go to Control Panel/Devices and Printer/ then select your keyboard device and run Troubleshoot. This will re-establish it's USB connection and restore the Dell audio keys
