NTUNE

The new Ntune Relase from Nvidia will now enable you to change the LED colors from the Nvidia Control Panel instead of thru the BIOS. Hopefully with more BIOS updates we can see some better features as well.

proably due to the crippled chipset.....
But that could just be rampant speculation......

Well, it seems Nvidia and Dell need to get together to work out a good BIOS release. They (DELL) severely crippled the 590 MOBO and need to figure out a way to give us (XPS 700) owners what we thought were getting to begin with - that being a fully - NOTE - "FULLY" funtional 590 capable mobo. My old system was an Alienware. Atleast they went with the name brand products ie ASUS mobos instead of going the cheap route and hacking up a what was a solid mobo.

But hey let's look at ther bright side we can now change the LED colors from within windows. Woot just what I orders a $3500 laser light show on the front of my computer!

I agree 100%! I still cannot access the mobo settings from the new version of nTune either. nVidia released the 680i motherboard yesterday. That means Dell should be able to order them as well. As for the lack of Bios updates it doesn't surprise me but this is borderline ridiculous. What are they waiting for? It's more than obvious to them that they need to do something for us. Why not get a Bios update out as soon as possible?

All,

We have done alot of testing with this application. If you push things too far you will generate a "crash". Everyone should download and digest the NVIDIA nTune Generation 5.0 User's Guide (v1.1).

Does it crash when doing the Quick (20 minute) Automatic Tuning?

When it crashed using the "Adjust Motherboard settings", what options did you choose?

Chris,

I may be wrong, but I think the App is crashing as they enter it, not after making changes.  If I'm wrong, you guys correct me.

^^^^ yep thats exactly what happens - can't even get into the "adjust motherboard settings". The Ntune application just quits back to desktop when you select it AMS.

Ver 5.00.11.06 did the same too. Never been able to get it running, even after countless rebuilds with trying different drivers...*sigh*

It crashes with Adjusting GPU settings and clicking on the Button " Find Optimal" during its progress at around 80% it completely crashes with a black screen. Only way to reboot it is holding in power button.

This version is a joke...

Chris,

I cannot even access the Motherboard Settings from nTune. When I click on that option the program closes without even an error message. Nothing. I've only seen screenshots of the Motherboard Settings options. Should I/We be able to access these options? Perhaps my brand new machine (3 weeks old) shipped broken?

Yes I've had that problem too. Not found a workaround either.

Well after spending the last 1hr on the phone... i've found the solution thanks to Nvidia.

When I Adjusted GPU settings and clicking on the Button " Find Optimal"

I went from 600mhz to 800mhz and temps stay the same and passed check.

A couple of questions for you on this please!

1) Are you sure this works with the Custom Dell Chipset?
2) Does this fix the problem where we cannot access the Motherboard Settings Options?

Thanks!
