New Hard Drive for Old XPS420 PC from 2008

My original hard drive is burnt dead! What hard drive is recommended for replacement and can I install Windows 10 on it? Originally came with ancient Windows Vista Home Premium. Thanks for the help.

I'd recommend an SSD. Usually I buy Samsung 850 series.

Just to add, while Windows 10 might work on this system, it was only configured with Vista from Dell (as the latest OS). So it might be a good idea to see if you can search for any posts where someone has loaded Windows 10 on this system. An SSD (as mentioned) would be ideal to get a bit more speed back on the system.

Best regards,

Brad

Windows 10 works fine on these. Standard Western Digital Drive is 1TB and less than $99
