Optiplex 210L from employer
I have been given an OptiPlex 210L from my Employer as it was going to be destroyed due to new equipment arriving.
The reason for acquiring it is I'm wanting to be used for educational purposes for my 3 boys, but also want them to be able to play current games on it.
Its currently operating system is Windows XP, but it runs extremely slow.
Please can you provide suggestions for upgrading it, such as processor / video card upgrade and operating system.

The ancient 210L with Vacuum Tube Drive does not and will not EVER play current games. The cost of windows either 7 or 8 is $100 for home and $199 for pro retail. I would scavenge the Ram and hard drive and drive cables and optical drive from the 210 and then trash it.
Used Optiplex GX620 and up with windows 7 can be upgraded to 3.5 gigs of ram and can use Radeon HD7750 /R7 250E. GX620 and up can also be upgraded or purchased with Pentium D 900 Series which means they will run 64 bit windows 8.1 or even 10.
I always recommend a TOWER because they can be upgraded and they use STANDARD power supplies so they can live forever.
