Optiplex 3010 TV Card

Hi folks,

Is there any particular TV card which is recommened for the 3010, small form, i3, running Win7 pro 64bit ?  It will be used with the integrated Intel HD graphics 64mb, 1.6gb shared. Reliability is important becasue it will be used as a tv recorder. Location is UK.

Thanks.

As usual I have to answer my own question!  I have found that the HVR-1200 works fine, am using WMC.

Hi coopern,

The 3010 small form factor can take low-profile add-on cards. There are two slots, a PCI Express x1 and a PCI Express x16. I think most tuner cards fit an X1 slot. So make sure you get a card with these specs.

As for the exact card, it really depends on your requirements. There are digital, analog and dual-mode cards. Some of them come with recording software and some depend on the built-in Windows Media Center. So do your homework and I'm sure you'll find something that meets all of your needs.

Here is the one I use (came with my XPS 8100).
