Optiplex 745 MT vs Graphic Cards - GT 710
Hi, I would like to ask for some advice for find the correct graphic card to upgrade my Optiplex 745.
I’ve read a lot of nice advices from SpeedStep, but I could not found a solution yet.
I still using my old dell 745 MT.
Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 1.86Mhz, Q 965 – Bios 2.6.4 (not updated), W7 Ultimate Ed. X64, 2 seagate HD 2TB each.
I’ve already upgraded a power supply to 500w and a memory to 4 x 2GB DDR2 667 (8GB total)
I purchased a Intel E7500 but a friend told me that it is not compatible. (never tried to install)
745MT works very well, exception for a Radeon x1300/1550 card
Basically I use my Desktop to work with Adobe’s programs (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesing, etc) and to watch a lot of movies :)
I’ve read about 745 PCi-E’s limitations (version 1.0, 25W power socket, etc)
As I need it to work and to watch movies, I prefer a fanless video card.
My doubt is about compatibility and space. There are 2 big capacitors in the MB next PCI’s space
My selections are
1 – Zotac GT 710 DDR3 2GB Passive ( Looks like it fits)
https://www.amazon.com/ZOTAC-GeForce-PCI-E2-0-Graphics-ZT-71302-20L/dp/B01AZ7W88O
2 – EVGA GT 710 DDR3 2GB Passive
3 – XFX HD 6450 2GB DDR3 2GB
4 – EVGA GT 210 DDR3 1GB Passive (smaller)
Thanks in advance for any help.
