you need to open up the Catalyst software to enable the dual monitor support on the card.

make sure you have the latest drives for the card. and it might not hurt to uninstall and reinstall the drivers.

I've done into the Catalyst software and then the diaplsy properties. When I click on "Detect Displays"  the second display icon lights up for a second then goes grey and nothing happens. For some reason I can't get the setting to stick.

Also, make sure you are connecting to the 2nd port on the 3470, not the onboard video connector. This means your 2nd monitor uses display port, or you have a 2nd dongle to go from display port to DVI.

Thanks for the posts. I've reinstalled catalyst and the drivers several times and I'm positive I'm plugging into the correct port. I even tried switching the dvi cable to see if that was bad... no dice.

Hi,

Not that I have an answer to your question. I guess it's no more relevant as it's relatively out dated. Sorry about that. Actually, I would like to ask YOU a question.

I'm going to buy OptiPlex 960 (small form factor). It's delivered now with integrated Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500 which has 2 outputs. I checked it at the dealer store and saw that it supports dual monitors, but only one output supports 1920x1200 while the second one cannot provide more than 1600x1200.

Do you have any idea whether this behavior normal? Does the OS (XP or 7) matter?

Thanks in advance.
